    BREEN, Paul, age 76 of 112 B.C. Ave., Lynden, passed away suddenly Tues., June 21, (1977). Born in Orange City, Iowa, he moved to Lynden in 1915 and was a charter member of the Second Christian Reformed Church. From 1925 to 1964 he owned and operated The Farmers Mercantile in Lynden, along with Bob Anderson and Dick Albers. He was also a member of the Lynden Noon Kiwanis Club and on June 22, 1923 was united in marriage to Tina VanderGriend in Lynden. Besides his wife Tina he is survived by 2 daughters, Mrs. Clifford (Evva Gene) Glass and Mrs. Alvin (Judy) Stauffer, all of Lynden; a brother, Rev. Oliver Breen, Grand Rapids, Mich,; 2 sisters, Mrs. Nellie DeJager, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Mrs. Johanna DeYoung of Parkland, Wash.; 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, June 24 at 2 p.m. in the second Christian Reformed Church with Rev. William Verwolf officiating. Burial will follow in Monumenta Cemetery. Contributions and memorial gifts may be made to the Second Christian Reformed Church. Services are under the direction of the Gillies Funeral Home, Lynden. [b. Sept. 7, 1901]
