Person:Patrick Reid (1)

Patrick Reid was baptised on 20th February 1842 at Monasterevin in County Kildare, son of Mary Reid, formerly Dennan, and her husband Michael Reid, a mason. Patrick appears to have been their youngest child.

Several members of the family left Ireland during the 1850s and moved to New York. Patrick's brother Joseph and sister Theresa emigrated in the early 1850s, whilst Patrick, his sisters Maria, Ann and Agnes and their widowed mother Mary all seem to have emigrated around 1854. The 1855 census finds the family living in the city of New York.

In 1866 Patrick was one of the witnesses for his brother-in-law William Gahan's will (William being married to Patrick's sister Ann). At this time, Patrick was living at 10 Amity Place. Patrick has yet to be traced after 1866.
