Trade, profession, or particular kind of work done, as spinner, sawyer, bookkeeper, etc.: 'retired Rubber Worker'
Date deceased last worked at this occupation (month and year): '1 1931'
Total time (years) spent in this occupation: '50'

This information suggests that Patrick immigrated at least as early as 1881 from Ireland to the U.S. He surely only entered the Rubber Worker trade once he started working at the Rubber Factory in Cambridge, MA. However, the approximate number of years he worked as provided by his son Stephen is 50 years. This is almost certainly an approximation given that it is rounded to the nearest 10 years. But if you subtract 50 from the last date of employment of 1931 you conclude he may have worked in Cambridge as early as 1881, and by definition must have immigrated by this time. However, also note that if you subtract the 50 years from Patrick's year of death (1937) then this would imply he entered the country c1887. This year of immigration maps perfectly to the date provided on the 1920 MA Federal Census. I now assume that this is the suggested year of immigration.
