Clara was born in St. John's so she either married Patrick there or in the United States. If I recall I have not found any marriage records for this couple in the United States, however, I also have no record indicating that Patrick ever lived in Newfoundland. I have now checked the 1900 census and Clara is listed as being single and she is a servant in the household of a different family sho she must not have married Patrick before 1900.
