Nora and Ora were 2nd cousins. Mother may have been from France. Sons and Daughters of Oregon Pioneers application filled out by Gladys (Westfall) King, Mullen. He came to Oregon in 1894 from Clinton, Missouri. From letter from Elgar to Ellen B. Thibadeau-Ora moved his family a lot and then walked out on them.
Ellen B. Thibadeau has a photo of a class play showing Ora at Academy in Salida, Colo.
The middle initial of E. may stand for Ellwood.
1900 US census said his father was born in West Virginia. William G. Westfall was also on this census, living with Ora. It shows he was born in Missouri. This makes me wonder if Ora may have had another father. Perhaps William G. is his stepfather. Note: Ora's death cert. shows Wm. as his father and that he was born in Missouri.
On the marriage record for Lewis and Gladys she said he was born in Colorado.
The day/place of his birth and death date/place came from Gram's notes.
Per Ellen Blanche King Thibadeau Ora was tall, good looking and very smart. He held many different professions during his life: Doctor, attorney, teacher, actor and more. (I have not found evidence of these occupations).
Orion name is from email dated 3 Oct. 2006 from Skip Thibadeau. This email also stated he was a school teacher.
Ora may have fallen in love with a woman with the last name of [Striplin] and he might have even married her. The 1920 US Census shows Ora living in California with 2 boys with this last name and he is listed them as his stepsons. Ora is listed as a widow on this Census and also on his Death Cert. even though his wife Nora was still alive. As far as I know they were never divorced.
(Research):On her notes she has what I believe to be locations of Arden during his short time on earth taken from cards to his grandmother.
1900 Nepesta Colo.
1902 Okely, ID
1904 Chehalis, WN
1908 Orilla WN
1910 Tenino, (the 1910 US Census proves this)
1911 Kelso,
1913 Holebraak, Ore
Feb. 1913 Portland Address: C/O C. T. Co. Scappoose, Ore.
From Gram's notes she had 1897 as Arden's birth year and July as the mo. he died.
Note his DC listed his death at 1912 so the 1913 dates must have been 1912.
Possible places to find the family.
(Medical):Also Myocarditis.

They are living at 140 Sussex Street. I find it interesing that only Agnes and Jerold seem to have a father born in Missouri. Ora should have been the father of Arden, Gladys, Agnes & Gerald. Archie was a Newby and his father WAS born in England.

Ora is a farmer-He was born in Missouri, his dad West Virginia. This may be an error since his father is living with him and he listed his birth place as Missouri. Bessie and Archie Newby's dad was born in England. Where are Alice (19) and William Newby?

I cannot read the State File No. Note: Ora's mother's name is Agnes Seraphine. Also that he is listed as a widow and Nora was still alive. I believe that Ora fell in love with another woman and she died. They might have even been married. I found Ora on the 1920 US Census listed with 2 step sons and listed as a widow there also. These boys have the last name of [Striplin].
