↑ Olney is called a son of Silas when his mother petitions that he be appointed administrator of his father's estate. The Ballou History says he moved to Newfield, NY, so presumably the person found there in the 1870 census line 3. The Find A Grave memorial apparently used this census as the basis for its imageless assertion that he was b. 1797 and d. 1870 (i.e., no more precise than what may be garnered from the census). Snce the Ballou History says he d. 1879, and he shows up alive in the 1875 state census, they clearly had no knowledge of his actual death or burial.
