Oliver Hazard, son of Oliver and Elizabeth (Raymond) Hazard, was born in Jamestown, R. I., 30 March 1739; drowned at Cuttyhunk 11 Nov 1799; m. in Dartmouth, now Westport, Mass. 15 Jan 1768 (Dartmouth records), Abigail Brownell, b. in Dartmouth 11 July 1749, d. there 8 Feb 1826, daughter of Paul and Deborah (Dennis) Brownell.

Lucretia, b. in 1769; Phebe, b. in 1770; Elizabeth, b. in 1772; Suzanne, b. in 1773; Paul, b. in 1775; Nancy, b. in 1777; Arnold, b. in 1779; Hannah, b. in 1781; Mary, b. in 1783; Mercy, b. in 1785; John, b. in 1787; Perry, b. in 1789; Roby, b. in 1791.
... There is no record that he ever lived at South Kingstown, R. I.
... Land Records at Westport Harbor indicate that Oliver Hazard and his wife lived on a part of the farm owned by Paul Brownell which Abigail inherited from her family.
