Notes (1) !Source of Information: Will of Eliphaz Shelton recorded in Patrick County, Virginia Court 4 July 1818. ELIPHAZ SHELTON RECORDED A WILL WITH THE PATRICK COUNTY, VIGINIA COURT 4 JULY 1818. IN ITEM NUMBER 10 HE STATES THAT I GIVE TO MY DAUGHTER OLIVE NOWLING AND MY SON IN LAW SAMUEL NOWLING ONE EQUAL PART TO THEM AND THEIR HEIRS FOREVER. Olive Shelton Nowling was the daughter of Eliphaz Shelton and Ann or Mary Ann. !Source of Information: Family History of Samuel Nowlin, husband of Ollive Shelton Nowlin, in possession of g g grand daughter Lorraine Winger Darley living in Layton, Utah. Also, records of the "Danile Decendents" Bk. 929. 273--D221M P 14 found in the Salt Lake Family Library. and the Will of Eliphuz Shelton, father of Ollive Shelton. Ollive Shelton born 1790 in Patrick County, Virginia, was the seventh child of Eliphuz Shelton and Mary Ann. She married Samuel Nowlin 19 January, 1809 in Patrick County, Virginia. They later moved to Washington County, Indiana to be near their children. (2) she was living alone, back in Southern Pittsylvania county in 1850, perhaps returning from Indiana aft husbands death? Still there but apparently older, in 1860 indicating age of 80 on census. 3) I suspect that the death record for Olive in Indiana, a transcription of originals, Might have been for her spouse , instead...
