Appears from land grant that he may have gotten 40 acres in Indiana in 1837. After Ursula,his mother, died in Patrick county in 1839, Samuel and his wife Olive Shelton moved to Washington Co, Indiana to seek a new life there. His son David had moved out earlier, about 1834 with some of his brothers and sisters. Believe that Olive moved back East when he died, although there is a record of her death there, too, about the same time...might be a transcription error.
