Olga and Clem were married at the Methodist parsonage by Rev. Kloutz.

She and Clem, with the help of their sons, built their house at 202 West German Street and moved into it in 1955. They planted the first Christmas tree they had at the new home in front of the house and it grew there until the 1990s when the city sewer system was installed.

New Knoxville - Olga M. Stienecker, 91, 202 W. German St., died Friday, Aug. 7, 1998, at 9:20 p.m. at her home.

She was born Nov. 20, 1906, near New Knoxville in Washington Township, Auglaize County, daughter of Wesley F. and Flora (Settlage) Katterheinrich.

On April 27, 1928, she was married to Clement R. Stienecker. He died Oct. 19, 1986.

Survivors include a son, Don, and a daughter, Shirley Meyer, both of New Knoxville; 12 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

A son, two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

Mrs. Stienecker was a member of the United Methodist Church in New Knoxville, where she had been an active member of the United Methodist Women and the church choir. For many years she and her husband had served as church custodians.

She had been a clerk at the former Ben Kuck store and for many years was employed at Adolph's Restaurant, both in New Knoxville.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed playing bridge and dominoes.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the church with the Rev. Mitch Arnold officiating.

Her body was cremated and private burial will be in the Pilger Ruhe Cemetery, New Knoxville.

Friends may call at the church Tuesday, from 6:30 p.m. until the time of services.

Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church Organ Fund.

Arrangements are being handled by the Gilberg Funeral Home in New Bremen.
