Ola was from Gresjmoen. The books says the cotter farm within Gaustad was known as Gresjmoen, under Framigarden Gaustad. That may be wrong, but my Norske is not good. Hans Johannesson (1818-1875) was 57 years when he came to this land and married Kari from Bjorgan in Haltdalen and/or Eidet in Alen. Hans married Kari Andersdotter Grindbakken 1819-1887 in 1847. Children: Anders born 1844 married Kari Olsdtr. Kotttum. Veltet in Melhus and lived there. Johannes born 1848 married Kari Tronsdtr Branem--Sagvollen under Bjorset Beret born 1850-1923 married Arn Andersson Kval, Kvalstugga in Melhus Jon born in 1853 married Marit Johansdtr. Skjegstad. Hafella and went there to live Beret born in 1856 married Arn Loberg from Horg and went to America Ingeborg born in 1859, died in Skjegstad in 1907 at the age of 48. She had many children with different fathers. (If you send me your snail mail address, I will send you this portion of information)

OLA born in 1862 married Gjertru Persdtr. Skjegstadlokken. They went to America in 1888. One child was born, Helmer 1887. On the same ship, there is a Nils O. Skjestad age 34 from Skjegstadhaugen who came to America.

This is the only family ever to live on this land and it started and ended with them. Most of these locations where the family moved to can be found in the Bygdeboks, Do you live close to a library that has the books, such as Northfield/St. Olaf Coll?

For emigration, it states that Ole and Gjertrude sailed to Hull, England on the ship, Hero and then went to Liverpool to get the steamer to America. Their destinationis given as Evensville, Minnesota. They were 24 and 22 years of age.

Gjertrude was born in 1862 and married Ole. Children born were Gjertrud 1882 who died in Malvik in 1897 at age of 16 years. Her father was NIls Andersson Krokstadlokken. Gjertude's mother was Kari Nilsdtr. Solemslokken born in Solem in 1817 Her father was Per Evensson 1809-1883, who came to Skjegstadlykkjsa from Skjegstadhaugen.

There is more on the family, but my wrists are giving out and I must do some typing for others. I do some Pommern research. You would have to send me information on what you want there, that is far more complicated.
