On 1850 census, age 16, with parents there. [p 28 fam #405/414] He married Mary C. HOOPER 18 Mar 1858 in Hocking Co., Oh.[HVRM, book B , p. 58] She was born about 1839 in Oh. The 1860 census shows Noah, 26, a farmer in Laurel , Hocking Co., Oh., with wife Mary, age 22, and daughter Eve, age 1.[p 72 fam # 986/974] On the 1870 census, he is in Jefferson Twp., Polk Co., Ia., with wife and family. Noah is now 39, a farmer with $460 in personal property. Mary is 31, and they have five children with the m. The census tells us that the youngest child, the unnamed infant, age 4 months, was born in Iowa, but that three year old Noah was born in Ohio, so we see they moved between 1867 and 1869.[p 334 fam #31/31] Also in the home is William and wife Eve (Strohl) Hooper with their children. There is a James Hooper buried in the Rittgers Cemetery, Johnston, Ia., 6 June 1867 , age 26 yrs, 9 mo, 12 days. This may be brother of Mary. References
