  6. Nettie's husband was a heavy drinker, thus Nettie was the familyprovider. She was known as a very hard worker, willing to take on anywork that came along, to help support her two sons
  7. It was told that Nettie actually witnesses her father shooting himself,but that she went along with the story that it was an accident. She hadmany mental problems over the years, and was eventually placed in amental institution. When Mildred (Hite) Gieseck visited her dentist inPataskala one day, the dentist asked her if she had known Nettie. Heproceeded to tell Mildred that one day Nettie was bringing one of herboys into his office by horse and buggy. While stopped at a traincrossing, the train had spooked the horse and it had ran uncontrolably,pulling the buggy and its passenger's who were scared for their lives.Eventually Nettie did gain control once again, and make it to thedentist's office, but was very badly shaken up. Later the dentist hadheard Nettie was admitted into the mental hospital, and had wondered ifthat scare had in fact contributed to her mental problems
