"D 4. Nathaniel2 Shepard (Daniel1), born at Portsmouth, R.I., 7 Sept. 1692, died apparently at New London, Conn., in 1761; married at Dartmouth, 8 Dec. 1724, Experience Spooner, born at Dartmouth 19 June 1702, daughter of Samuel and Experience (Wing) Spooner. On 20 Oct. 1721, Benjamin Hammond conveyed to Nathaniel Shepard of Dartmouth, Mass., land in Coventry, Conn. [Coventry Land.] No evidence has been found that he ever settled there, He was still of Dartmouth at marriage and when his child Jemima was born in 1729; was living in Freetown, Mass., when he had a child recorded there in 1743; but his daughter Jemima was of Dartmouth when she married a Freetown man in 1749. On 13 Oct. 1761, Thomas Spooner of New London gave bond as administrator of the estate of Nathaniel Shepard. [New London Probate.]"
