Facts and Events
Some records indicate birthdate may be 1614/15, Byfield, Northampton, England. Another possible date of death would be abt. 1662 in Braintree, MA. Residence in 1638 was Braintree, Norfolk, MA, USA From Braintree Genealogies: Harmon, Herman, Harmand, Hareman Nathaniel Herman was made freeman of the colony May 10, 1643 at Braintree and in 1645 was one of the Braintree men who petitioned the General Court for land for a new plantation. Nathaniel Harmon's land is mentioned in Dec. 4, 1651 as one of the bounds of land sold that day by Martin Saunders and Francis Elliot to Thomas Barrett...Braintree Records, pg. 3. Nathaniel Hareman from Braintree was one who was to settle at Mendon in 1663 but it is said he did not go there to settle. His wife Mary was daughter of Thomas Bliss of Braintree and Rehoboth, baptized Mar. 16,1616/7 at Daventry Co., Northampton, England, UK. from SAVAGE: Nathaniel, Braintree, m. Mary, daughter of Thomas Bliss of Rehoboth, had Nathaniel, b. 8 Feb. 1641; and Mary, 15 Feb. 1643; freeman 10 May (?); had also Sarah, 3 Mar. 1653; Jonathan, 24 June 1654; and Ephraim, 30 Oct. 1656. Many compilers list his father as Francis Harmon, who immigrated to New England in 1635, but there appears to be little solid research to support this. References
