    "6 Nathaniel4 Cowdery (Samuel,3 Nathaniel,2 William1), b. Nov. 20, 1691, at Charlestown, Mass.; … Nathaniel d. Apr. 23, 1751, at Hadley, Mass.; … buried in the Modus graveyard. He was a tanner by occupation."

It would have been unlikely, in 1751, for a person who died at Hadley, Mass., to have been brought back to Moodus (East Haddam) for burial. It is possible that there was a cenotaph erected at Moodus, but no photo is attached to this memorial. However, his son Nathaniel was buried at Moodus. A review of the Hale Collection inscriptions for Moodus Cemetery would be helpful.
