ADMINISTRATORS SALE. "The Calhoun Times" 9 Jan 1908

GEORGIA Gordon County By virtue of an order of the Court of Ordinary of said County will be sold at public outcry, on the first Tuesday in Feb. 1908, at the court house in said county, between the usual hours of sale, the following real estate situated in Gordon County to wit 80 acres off of Lot No. 278 and 50 acres off of lot No. 279. All in 13th District and 3rd section of Gordon County, GA. Terms of sale, Cash. This January 6, 1908, H.L. Smith Adme of Mrs. N.A. Rooker Estate. Nancy's dress caught on fire as she sat by the fire. She was critically ill for two days and then died.

  7. AGED LADY DEAD
    Mrs. Nancy Rooker, one of the oldest residents of Gordon county, died last Thursday at her home in Resaca at the age of 92 years. Her death was caused by severe burns which she received Tuesday. She was sitting in front of the fire when her dress became ignited, and before the fire could be extinguished she was so badly burned that death resulted two days later. Mrs. Rooker had been a member of the Baptist church for over forty years and had resided in Gordon county for more than half a century. She is survived by several children. The interment occurred Friday at the Resaca cemetery, the funeral being conducted at the Resaca Baptist church by Dr. J.A. Johnson.
