I have seen your entries in Genforum. I have done a considerable amount of Southard research over the years. There are many of us who believe that Moses Sudduth born 7/28/1753 in Stafford County is the Moses Southard / Sudduth of Madison County from 1795 to 1838.

Although there are several Moses Southard (and variations) in Fauquier and Stafford in the late 1700's, I can place the Moses of Madison Co in Stafford in 1788.

Lewis Southard who died Page Co 1870 was the son of Moses of Madison Co and said he was born in Stafford Co in 1788.

The Personal property Tax Lists place a Moses Southard in Stafford Co to 1794 then in Madison from 1795 on. I still have some work to do in this area but believe he was the one who moved to Madison.

I can identify 10 Children of Moses but no wife, should have been married by c 1779/80.
