Will of "Moses Chamberlain of Winchester ... being weak in body", dated 28 Jan 1803, proved 12 Feb 1803, names wife Hepsibeth Chamberlain, son Moses Chamberlain Jun'r, my five daughters Hepsibeth, Polly, Phebe, Rhody & Cloy. Son Moses to be executor.
24 Oct 1808: Real estate divided between widow Hephsibah Chamberlin and Moses Chamberlin.
22 Sep 1723: Petition of Lemuel Wheelock of Warwick and Rhoda Wheelock wife of said Lemuel, that Moses Chamberlain late of Winchester by will bequeathed to said Rhoda then unmarried $100, also to Chloe Chamberlain who by will bequeathed it to Rhoda and died, also to Phebe who died without children so two fifth parts descends to Rhoda, total of $240. That Lemuel is guardian of Hephzibah Thayer a minor daughter of John Thayer who is legal representative of her mother to whom $100 similarly bequeathed in a like manner and one fifth part of Phebe, total of $120. that Moses refuses to pay these legacies. [It appears a suit was initiated, no further information.]
[Case C132: 11 May 1803: Bond of Hephsibah Chamberlin widow with Moses Chamberline husbanman as surety, to be guardian of Phebe Chamberlin, Rhoda Chamberlin and Cloe Chamberlin, Minors under 21 daughters of Moses Chamberlin late of Winchester.
