have two Mordecai Browns in my data base. First was b. ca 1788 and the son
of John Brown and Phebe. Will of John Brown dated 26 OCT 1801 proved 19 OCT
1801 (Culpeper WB A, pp. 341-342) names wife Phebe and children John G. Brown,
Zachariah Brown, Richard Brown, Betsey Brown, Nancy Brown, Mordecai Brown and
William Brown. Friend Daniel Brown, executor. Witnessed by Thomas
Brown, Daniel Brown and Isabel Brown.
