Proof of Parents

Strangely, Bolton vital records fail to list Miriam's birth, but give her marriage to Jonathan SMITH. In addition, she was called "Miriam Smith" in her father's will.

Age

According to a family letter by Henry Watson: "When in college at Hartford (Trinity) in 1827 or 1828 I went home one Saturday and found there my own mother and grandmother Reed, my Great Grand mother MacLean - my Great Great Grandmother Smith making the five generations. Mrs Smith was nearly 100 years old and lived to be 102 yrs They all seemed to be in good health"
