Her death certificate names her parents as Fillman E. Dunn b. VA, and Miss Lease b. VA. Lease family information identifies here as Mary Ann Lease, daughter of Henry. Minerva is listed as "Jane" in the 1850 census with her mother and her second husband Nelson Long in Hampshire Co, VA. Her mother died in 1859, and Minerva continued to live with Nelson when she got married in early 1860.

Minerva and her first husband William divorced between the 1870 census and about 1875, when she reported to later census takers that she remarried, to David McConey.

Nimrod Long, age 25, is living with Minerva in 1880 and is listed as “brother in law” of DC McConey (head of household). Also living with them are Mary (divorced, age 36, par b. VA) and Elmer (single, age 21, par b. VA) Webster, listed as sister in law and brother in law of DC respectively. Mary is found in 1860, age 18, living with Uri B. Webster 28, b. NY, and Elmer, 1. Nimrod is Minerva's half-brother, and Mary is her full sister.

In 1880, they had moved, for unknown reasons, to Joplin, Missouri. Both her Bingham children married there and they lived in the same neighborhood through 1900. After her son Frank divorced his first wife and moved to California, Minerva and DC moved to Kansas City, and then eventually to Los Angeles near Frank. She was living with him at her death in 1931.

Went by Virginia later in life.
