That this Michael Tullis was a son of Jonathan is largely an educated guess, based on proximity, dates, and naming patterns. He is not listed in the settlement of his father's estate in 1831 probably because Michael died before his father.

Michael's will (Book 1, p. 38, Deerfield Twp, Warren Co, OH) dated Nov. 7, 1811, and recorded Feb 20, 1812, leaves all his property to his wife "until the youngest child shall be of age at which time my wife is to have the third of the remainders and rest is to be equally divided among the children."

Michael's wife, Eleanor, apparently remarried to a Cornelius Wallace after Michael's death. In her will (Eleanor Wallace, Madison Co, OH, Wills, dated 8-15-1837 and recorded 3-31-1838) she lists two groups of heirs. The first group, including a son named Stephen Wallace, is apparently her children by Cornelius Wallace. The second group is her children by Michael Tullis, as follows: Sons: Michael Tullis, Jonathan Tullis, and John W. Tullis; daughters: Sarah Dockum?, Mary Afton, Eliza Dugan?, and Rozetta Smith. One of the witnesses is Peter Sewell.
