Information from Family Bible of Ezra Tullis and Mary Blue. Records the births of all their children, plus their own marriage and the marriages of Jonathan Tullis to Rebecca Rigdon and of Mary Tullis to James Spry. Zillah Tullis located the Bible in 1944 at the home of a "distant cousin" in Urbana, Ohio.

Ezra purchased land in Champaign Co, OH, in 1828 (see Deed Book H-351, Champ. Co.) and probably moved from Warren Co. then.

Ezra and family appear in the 1830 census in Goshen Twp, Champaign Co, OH, p. 12. Free white males: 1 10-15 yrs (Peter)), 1 15-20 yrs (Ezra Carter), 1 20-30 yrs (David), and 1 40-50 yrs (Ezra). Free white females: 2 15-20 yrs (Mary and Rebecca) and 1 40-50 yrs (Mary). The eldest child, Jonathan, had already married (in 1829).

Much of the information on the descendants of Ezra Tullis, and David L. Tullis especially, is from the manuscript "A Record of Descendants of Moses Tullis, Sr, of Berkeley Co, VA, and Thomas Little of Hunterdon Co, NJ" by Lawrence and Emily Tullis Little, 1972. It was presented through the Urbana (OH) Chapter of the D.A.R., and a copy can be found in the national DAR Library in Washington, DC.
