Michael was born at Octavia, Butler Cty., Nebr. He attended Omaha Commercial College. Came to Perkins Cty., in 1898 where his father homesteaded near Grant. For the next 37 years, he engaged in ranching, general mercantile business, insurance adn the banking business. In 1935, after 20 years as president of the Grant Bank, he purchased the First National Bank of Ogallala, Nebr., and was its president for 18 years. He belonged to the Methodist Church, Rotary Club, Odd Fellows, Nebr. Bankers' Ass'n. and Chamber of Commerce. He died in 1953 after being married for 50 years.
