    Mike Bracci, 62, of CMC Sales

    Mike Bracci, 62, exec vp of sales and marketing for CMC Sales and a long-time member of the Southern California Frozen and Refrigerated Foods Council, died Sept. 5. He had been collecting wood at his family cabin in the mountains north of Fresno when he was stung by a swarm of wasps.

    He came inside the cabin and complained of feeling light-headed before going into cardiac arrest. Paramedics were called but were unable to revive him.

    According to his LinkedIn profile, Bracci was previously a vp at Kelley-Clarke, where he worked from 1981 to 2001. He was a graduate of California State University-Los Angeles. He lived in Chino Hills, Calif.

    Man dies after multiple wasp stings in Huntington Lake area

    A 62-year-old man died after being stung by a swarm of wasps Monday in the mountains above Fresno, according to a Fresno County Emergency Medical Services and a sheriff’s spokesman.

    Mike Bracci of Chino Hills was collecting wood about 1:30 p.m. when he came inside a cabin and reported being stung, EMS reported.

    Bracci went into cardiac arrest after reporting that he was feeling lightheaded. Paramedics at the scene were unable to revive him, EMS reports said.

    Sheriff’s spokesman Tony Botti said Bracci was stung by more than a dozen wasps. The coroner’s office is investigating but has yet to release a report on the cause of death, he said.

    Mike Bracci, 62, of Chino Hills died unexpectedly Monday, Sept. 5 while vacationing with his wife Mary at Huntington Lake, one of his favorite places.

    Mr. Bracci worked for more than 45 years in the food industry, starting as a box boy at age 17 and working his way up to an executive, specializing in account and category management.

    The foundation of his career was 20 years at Kelley-Clarke of Diamond Bar, and subsequently as partner with CMC Sales and Marketing of Santa Fe Springs. Mike was extremely proud that the ‘M’ in CMC represented his name. Service excellence and commitment to customers were the joys he derived from his occupation.

    He was a member of various community and work-related organizations.

    While he enjoyed his work immensely, family was his passion.

    He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Mary; son Brian; daughter Andrea; granddaughter Peyton, who was his special “Pumpkin”: mother Josie, with whom he spoke daily; brother Dave and wife Maria; sisters Marianne and Deanna and husbands Larry and Darrin respectively; and several nieces and nephews. He was also extremely close to his mother-in-law Ann Macaulay, and sisters-in law Phyllis Mosgrove Kahl and Lois Mosgrove.

    He was born April 17, 1954, in Montebello and grew up in San Gabriel. He graduated from San Gabriel High School in 1972 and frequently reunited with classmates. He learned many life lessons as a Boy Scout and worked diligently to earn the rank of Eagle Scout.

    A celebration of life will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10, at the Diamond Bar Center, 1600 Grand Ave., Diamond Bar. A Margaritaville-themed party will follow the service. The family requests that guests dress accordingly.

    Mr. Bracci was a loyal supporter of Huntington Lake Volunteer Fire Department, whose EMTs tended to him in his final moments.
