Mike Bracci, 62, of Chino Hills died unexpectedly Monday, Sept. 5 while vacationing with his wife Mary at Huntington Lake, one of his favorite places.
Mr. Bracci worked for more than 45 years in the food industry, starting as a box boy at age 17 and working his way up to an executive, specializing in account and category management.
The foundation of his career was 20 years at Kelley-Clarke of Diamond Bar, and subsequently as partner with CMC Sales and Marketing of Santa Fe Springs. Mike was extremely proud that the ‘M’ in CMC represented his name. Service excellence and commitment to customers were the joys he derived from his occupation.
He was a member of various community and work-related organizations.
While he enjoyed his work immensely, family was his passion.
He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Mary; son Brian; daughter Andrea; granddaughter Peyton, who was his special “Pumpkin”: mother Josie, with whom he spoke daily; brother Dave and wife Maria; sisters Marianne and Deanna and husbands Larry and Darrin respectively; and several nieces and nephews. He was also extremely close to his mother-in-law Ann Macaulay, and sisters-in law Phyllis Mosgrove Kahl and Lois Mosgrove.
He was born April 17, 1954, in Montebello and grew up in San Gabriel. He graduated from San Gabriel High School in 1972 and frequently reunited with classmates. He learned many life lessons as a Boy Scout and worked diligently to earn the rank of Eagle Scout.
A celebration of life will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10, at the Diamond Bar Center, 1600 Grand Ave., Diamond Bar. A Margaritaville-themed party will follow the service. The family requests that guests dress accordingly.
Mr. Bracci was a loyal supporter of Huntington Lake Volunteer Fire Department, whose EMTs tended to him in his final moments. The family requests that memorial donations be made to Huntington Lake Volunteer Fire Department, c/o Karen Bare-Kamimoto, 125 E. Barstow Ave., Suite 109, Clovis, CA 93710.
