[edit] ObituaryM. Jane (Taylor) Krieger, 88, of Ohio City went to Heaven on February 4th, 2017 at 11:40 p.m. at Lutheran Hospital, Ft. Wayne. Indiana from a long illness. She was born on November 12th, 1928 in Ohio City, Ohio to Gilbert and Wavel (Medaugh) Taylor, who both preceded her in death. On June 11th 1957 married Paul Edward Krieger, who also preceded her in death. Survivors include her daughter Mrs. Leilani (Stephen) Dailey of Van Wert and son John Paul (Vikki) Krieger of Spotsylvania, Virginia; four grandchildren, Paula (Craig) Johnson; Brooks (Hannah) Tiffany; Jeananne (Austin) Knies; Michal Allen (Caolleen), and two great-grandchildren: Connor and Elizabeth Johnson; a sister-Alta Parton, of South Carolina ; and a brother Wavel (Sandy)Taylor of Delphos, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Edward Krieger; son Dale Krieger; parents Gilbert and Wave (Medaugh) Taylor; four brothers Doyt Taylor, Dale Taylor, Harlan Taylor, and Johnnie Taylor; and three sisters Virginia Gamble, Opal Kohn, and Ruby Kohn. Jane was a cook at Ohio City Liberty school for 10 years; co-owner of the Ohio City Locker alongside her husband Paul Krieger for over 20 years; G. E. of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; and Federal Mogul of Van Wert, Clark Shoes Store of Van Wert; Derry Drug of Van Wert Ohio; was a waitress and governance for Mr. & Mrs. Smith of California. She graduated from Van Wert High school in 1947, and attended Marsh Foundation. She was a member of Ohio City Methodist Church; Den Mother -Boy Scouts of America; member of the Order of Eastern Stars Van Wert Chapter # 48. She volunteered not only her time but also her baking pies for family, friends and community events of Ohio City, she loved to read, crochet, sewing, gardening and canning not only for herself but for family members as well. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren whether she was watching them in sporting events, teaching them how to cook and bake, laughing at them playing video games or just telling stories about the good ol’ days. Her family meant the world to her and she to them. A memorial service will be held at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church on 160 Sycamore Street (on the corner of Sycamore and Washington Street) in Van Wert on Saturday February 11th, 2017@ 2p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Order of Eastern Stars of Van Wert Chapter # 48 or Ohio City EMS.
