Mary Meakins was born in 1844 at Southwark in the southern suburbs of London. She was the daughter of Hannah Meakins, formerly Goodge, and her husband John Meakins, a labourer. Sadly, Mary died when she was only sixteen months old, being buried on 6th August 1845.
