Mary Nerly's "long good bye" has come to pass. Mary, 86, lost her battle with Alzheimer's disease on July 12, 2017.
A celebration of Mary's life will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at McLaren's Chapel, 801 19th St, West Des Moines, IA 50265. Private burial will be at Resthaven Cemetery at a later date.
Mary enjoyed gardening and her flower gardens were the envy of many. Family and friends enjoyed the vegetables she grew and shared. Mary also enjoyed being a Texas snowbird.
She is survived by three daughters, Mary Jo Nerly, Sandy (Jim) Burgess, and Janice Nerly; and a brother, Buster Jensen.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Joe; and three sisters, Elaine Quirk, Patricia Miller, and Serena Kramer Lubbee.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
