MRS. ELMER E. TEARE Mary Louise Teare, mother of George W. Teare, mayor of Bay Village, and widow of Elmer E. Teare, who before his death in 1925 was president of the Cleveland Savings & Loan Co., died yesterday at her home 12526 Cedar Road, Cleveland Heights. Born on old Wood Street, now W. 3d Street, 77 years ago, Mrs. Teare was a lifelong resident of Cleveland and had attended old Rockwell School and Central High School. Before her recent illness she had remained active in the women's board of St. Luke's Hospital, of which she was a charter member, and in the Fairmount Presbyterian Church Guild. She was also a member of the New England Society. A member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, she was decended from the Halsey family which came to Long Island from England many years ago and founded the city of Hempstead. Her husband was a prominent Cleveland business man and, besides his association with the savings and loan company, was also president of the Northern Ohio Lumber & Timber Co. Surviving her, besides her son, are a daughter, Mrs. R. G. Browne and five grandchildren. Rev. Frank H. Ferris, pastor of Fairmount Presbyterian Church, will officiate at funeral services. Gr-granddaughter of Stephen Jackson and Mary (or Nancy) Burwell (1753-1809), his wife, m. 1768. Stephen Jackson (1744-1812) was captain of cavalry, 1780, when the army was stationed at Morristown.
