Mary Horsley was baptised on 9th May 1756 at Stotfold in Bedfordshire, daughter of William and Ann Horsley.

On 22nd February 1794, when she was 37 years old, Mary married a labourer named Thomas Moles at Radwell in Hertfordshire, the parish immediately east of Stotfold. He was a widower, with five children from his first marriage. Mary was clearly pregnant when they married; she gave birth less than two months later to a daughter named Ann. Ann was Mary's only daughter, and she was not baptised as a baby.

Mary died in 1800, aged 44. She was buried at Stotfold on 5th October 1800. Her daughter was baptised a couple of months later. Thomas survived Mary by 38 years, but did not remarry again.
