3) Mary2 (Williaml) mentioned in will of her father, above. Morton, Rock- bridge, p. 483, states that in 1763 she married Robert Dunlap, son of Alexander (b. 1740, k. 1781) and had several children, which he lists. Robert Dunlap, says Bout- well Dunlap, was a lieutenant killed at Guilford Court House; many descendants including the Dunlaps of Munroe Co., W. Va. Robert Dunlap lived at Aspen Grove where the Alleghany Hotel at Goshen stood (I9I6). It is said that the widow Mary2 married James Coursey.

From research by John B. Robb, of Virginia:

Mary3 Gay was born say 1743. She married 1st, Robert Dunlap (son of Alexander Dunlap and Ann [MacFarland?]), about 1763. Robert was born about 1739, considering that he was deeded land by (his brother) John Dunlap in Feb1761,[38] and died, probably, at the Battle of Guilford Courthouse in South Carolina 15Mar1781.[39] She married 2nd, James Coursey, as his 2nd wife, in RockbridgeCoVA 3Feb1785. Coursey died between 27 Apr 1814 (date of his will), and 31 Jul 1815 (its date of proof) in RockbridgeCoVA.[40]
