  3. ↑ Source:Fletcher, Edward H. Fletcher Family History : The Descendants of Robert Fletcher of Concord, Mass is particularly disappointing in its handling of the marriage of William and Mary. On p. 30, it shows Mary listed with her parents (William (11) and Sarah), and no marriage indicated or hinted at despite mentioning the will in 1713 [sic, no will, actually probate with distribution of real estate]. William (18) on p. 31 is shown with wife Mary ---, despite a marriage record naming his wife Mary Fletcher. One would think a Fletcher genealogy would think it important to identify her, but this was not done.

    A brief survey of the various Fletcher families covered by the Fletcher Genealogy suggests Mary is the most likely person to be William's wife. Her birthdate is not known, her existence known by her mention in the probate. This mention also shows she had married a man named William Fletcher.

    The probate of William Fletcher (11), Mary's father, contains a judge's decree (here) that gives the real estate to son Josiah who must pay (among others) his brother William Fletcher (50) and his sister Mary Fletcher (53). The brother's receipt is here, for his part from Josiah Fletcher administrator of my honoured father William Fletcher deceased. There is a second recieipt (here) by William Fletcher (18) and Mary Fletcher for amount decreed by judge to be paid by Josiah Fletcher administrator of the estate of his [Josiah's] father William Fletcher Deceased.
