Facts and Events
Name Mary Louisa Davisson
Gender Female
Birth[1] 1839 Clarksburg, Harrison Co., Virginia (now West Virginia), United States
Marriage to Irving 'Toke' Bailey
Marriage Oct 1894 to Hon. Minter Jackson
Death?

A descendant of Minter has papers showing Mary Louisa's name both as Davidson and Davisson. I have used Davisson because that's the way she signed her name on some of the papers.

Mary Louisa Davisson married first to Irving Bailey, son of Minter Bailey, Jr. and Sallie (Sarah) Bastable. He died in March 1870 and Mary is found as a new widow with 2 sons, Robert M. and Irvin G. on the 1870 Census for Weston, Lewis Co, WV.

She is also found on the 1880 Census, Weston, Lewis Co, WV with only her son Robert, her other son having died in Oct. 1870. Her son Robert Bailey (d/o/d unknown) if living, would have been about 31 years old when Mary Louisa married Minter Jackson in 1894. Mary married her first husband's cousin when she married Minter Jackson, as Minter's mother, Hannah Bailey, and Irving's father, Minter Bailey Jr., were siblings, children of Minter Bailey Sr. and Nancy Norris.
