    Postulates Nathaniel Sawyer's first wife was Mary Carter, d/o Samuel Carter and Eunice Brooks, b. Woburn 24 Jul 1673, died between 1709 and 1715 (when 2nd wife Elizabeth admitted to church). A deed (Worcester deed Vol. 3, p. 133) Mary's brother Thomas Carter sells to Mary's son Samuel Sawyer calling him "my nephew". The article deems other possibilities for this relationship unlikely due to age considerations.
