Newspaper Clipping from unknown newspaper. Linden 1911 Enraged Cow Tossed a Five-Year Old Girl Little Mary Board Narrowly Escaped Serious Injury--The Picnic Correspondence of the Mail. Linden, May 31--Picnic festivities were temporarily suspended Sasturday when the news went around that little Mary Elizabeth Board, the five-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Board, had been tossed upon the horns of an enraged cow. The little girl was crossing the yard going to her home when the cow, probably infuriated by being separated from her calf, took after her and with a rush and a fling tossed the child high in the air. The mother, who had seen a part of the occurrence, quickly bore the unconscious child into the house and Dr. Buckley was immediately summoned. The little girl has recovered from her fright and is out of danger. That she was not seriously injured is marvelous. As it is she has a deep cut on her side and breast made by the cow's horn and is bruised about the face and body.[Board.FBC.FBK.FTW]
