    With his neighbors, the Frederick Zimmer (Ziemer) family, killed by Indians 10 Sept. 1812. This incident was related to early actions during the War of 1812.

    Gravesite Details
    This monument, and a similar one for the Copus massacre 1.5 miles south, were both dedicated 15 Sept. 1882; monument is on the site of the Zimmer cabin where all 4 victims were buried. Located on private property.
