WITHE, Martha, d. of Nicholas and Rebecca, [born] Jan. 11, 1652.
WITHE, Martha, d. of Nicholas and Rebecca, [born] July 10, 1653.
[Note: one of these dates is in error. 11 Jan 1652 cannot be 1651/52 as that would be only 5 months after Nicholas is born (unless his record is in error, too, as there is some confusion surrounding his as well), which means it is 1652/53 and that means that this could not be two separate births. Savage says 11 Jan 1653, by which he means 11 Jan 1652/53, while Paige, vol. 2, p. 702, says 10 Jul 1653. Neither appears to notice or explain the discrepancy. Paige probably carries more authority, but additionally, a birth in Jul is almost exactly the midpoint between the surrounding siblings, 2 years to each, whereas January is skewed towards Nicholas and therefore less typical.]
