Porter, Martha, Widow, Farmington. Invt. £415-01-00. Taken 2 August, 1749, by William Wadsworth and Elisha Lewis. Will dated 3 April, 1741.
I, Martha Porter, of the Town of Farmingtown, do make this my last will and testament: All my estate whatsoever, after my just debts are paid, I give and bequeath the whole to my loving and obliging sister Ruth Root, widow, to be her own and her heirs forever. And I do hereby constitute my aforenamed sister Ruth Root and her son John Smith to be executors.

Codicil, dated 20 December, 1742: Be it known to all men by these presents: That whereas I, Martha Porter of Farmingtown, widow and relict of John Porter, lately decd., have made and declared my last will and testament in writing, bearing date the 3rd day of April, 1749 [error for 1741], I, the sd. Martha Porter, do by this present codicil confirm and ratify my sd. last will and testament, and do make this little addition to the sd. will: I do constitute and ordain my loving kinsman Ebenezer Porter of sd. Farmingtown (with whome I now dwell) to be an executor added to the other two mentioned in my sd. will, meaning that this codicil be and be judged to be part and parcel of my sd. will.

Court Record, Page 105—1st August, 1749: The last will and testament of Martha Porter, late of Farmingtown, was now exhibited in Court by Ebenezer Porter and John Smith, two of the executors, making request to have it recorded, which this Court grant.
Page 121—6 March, 1749-50: An inventory of the estate of Widow Martha Porter, late of Farmingtown, was now exhibited in Court by Ebenezer Porter, which inventory this Court accepts."
