Facts and Events
Martha Louise Godsmark was baptised on 22nd August 1875 at Bermondsey in Surrey, in the southern suburbs of London. She was the only daughter of Martha Godsmark, formerly Wickenden, and her husband James Godsmark, a carman. In the 1881 census the family was living in nearby Rotherhithe. By 1891 they had moved to Peckham in the parish of Camberwell, living at 71 Naylor Road.
In 1898, aged 22, Martha married a clerk named James Maple at St Jude's church in Peckham. They have yet to be researched after their marriage.
