    "MARTHA JANE BERRY

Martha Jane Berry, 88 years old, widow of the late James F. Berry, died June 29, 1933, at her home near Steedman. Funeral services were held at 11:00 o'clock July 1, at Pleasant Hill church by Rev. Chas. E. Robinson, pastor of the Mokane Christian church, and burial took place in the church cemetery.

Martha Jane Cartmill was born at old St. Aubert in Callaway county November 28, 1844, and died June 29, 1933, aged 88 years, seven months and one day. She was united in marriage with James F. Berry on the 16th day of June, 1865.

To this union four children were born, as follows: Mrs. Libby Ann Horstman, who preceded her in death four years ago; James D. Berry of Steedman; Mrs. Ida Tremain of Fulton; Mrs. Minnie Bagley, Salt Lake City, Utah. She also leaves eleven grand-children and four great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Berry had been a member of the Methodist church since she was a young woman. She was a true, christian woman, a kind and loving mother, friend and neighbor, and had not an enemy on earth. Although she had been an invalid for almost six years, she was ever patient and cheerful in her affliction.

The Missourian joins other friends in extending sympathy to the bereaved family."
