Uncle Fred Reeve's first memories of Mom are her coming into the pantry at the Zeta Tau Alpha house where he worked and she lived at the Univ. of Illinois, and putting a few drops of iodine in a small glass of water every night. Probably to prevent goiter since Aunt Alva and Uncle Ira had it (Aunt Alva had the parrot eyes associated with the disease).

Vivian Villiger Meyer wrote "In 1934 I was a Senior at the University of Illinois and Marion was a freshman at William and Mary. I went to visit her on the Easter holiday and we went to the Easter Egg Roll on the White House Lawn."

Watson, Malta, Idaho, has been announced by Miss Villiger's parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. B.(sic) Villiger. Both Miss Villiger and Lieutenant Watson are graduates of the University of Illinois. Lieutenant Watson is the son of Mr and Mrs. B. B. Watson, Barry.

Obituary in the Pike Press 6/6/1979 Mother would have laughed and fumed over the misspelling of her first name. MARIAN V. WATSON Mrs. Marian Villiger Watson, wife of retired Col. William W. Watson, died May 27, 1979 at Scott Air Force Base Hospital. She was 62 years of age. Services were held May 30 at Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville. Internment was in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Mrs. Watson was a daughter of Carl and Anna Mae Villiger. She was a member of the Cahokia Mound Chapter of the DAR. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Mrs. James (Margaret) Rutledge of New Jersey; a son, William W. Watson of Anaheim, Calif.l and a sister, Mrs. Edwin (Vivian) Meyer of Little Rock, Ark., and two grandchildren. The Watsons had been spending part of the time in Barry and the remainder of each year at Belleville.

She was a member of the Cahokia Mound Chapter DAR. She is survived by her husband, Col. William W. Watson; a daughter, Mrs. James (Margaret) Rutledge of New Jersey; a son, William W. Watson Jr. of Anaheim, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Edwin (Vivian) Meyer of Little Rock, Ark and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 30. at the Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis. Friends may call after 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
