Her mother and stepfather, Mr. Montgomery, will give a tea dance for her Thursday in Oyster Bay. The debutante, who wore a white swiss organdy gown made with ruffled shoulders and bouffant skirt, received with her mother and sister, Mrs. Haley Fiske 3d of New York. Miss Wardwell was graduated this month from Chatham Hall, Va., and has passed much of her girlhood in Boston, the home of her late father, Colonel Chester Allan Wardwell. The wedding will take place next month. Miss Wardwell was graduated from Chatham Hall in Virginia in June, 1938. Later that month she was introduced to society at a party at the Seawanhaka Corinthian Yacht Club, Oyster Bay. She made her debut in New York the next Winter. The prospective bride is a member of the Junior League and the Badminton Club. The prospective bride is a granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ogden Magic of Chicago and the late J. Otis Wardwell, a member of the Massachusetts Republican State Committee for twenty-five years, and the late Mrs. Wardwell of Boston. She Is a niece of Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Wardwell, also of Boston. On her mother's side Miss Wardwell Is descended from General Putnam and Thomas Hooker, and is related to the Carter family of Virginia and Georgia. Mr. Waite Is a grandson of Mrs. Daniel Everley of Providence, R. I., and of David Simmons Waite, onetime president of the Mayflower Society of Maine, who married Miss Josephine-Louisa Stanton of Norwich. Conn. Miss Florence Wardwell Becomes Bridge of Parker R. Waite in St. Thomas Church In a Spring setting of white blossoms, Miss Florence Wardwell, daughter of Mrs. John Lewis Montgomery of 106 East Eighty-second Street and the late Chester Alan Wardwell of Boston, was married to Parker Read Waite, son of Mrs. Walter Tirrell of 192 East End Avenue and of the late Parker Read Waite of Lewiston, Me., yesterday afternoon in St. Thomas Protestant Episcopal Church. The ceremony was performed by the rector, the Rev. Dr. Roelif H. Brooks. Easter lilies banked the altar, and clusters of the same flowers fastened at the ends of alternate pews along the main aisle made a floral lane down which the bridal party passed. While the guests were assembling, Dr. T. Tertius Noble, organist of the church, gave a special program of music. The bride, who was given in marriage by her stepfather, John Lewis Montgomery, wore a princess gown of ivory-colored satin made with long, close-fitting sleeves pointed at the wrists, a heart-shaped neckline, and a full skirt that terminated with a long train. She wore also her mother's wedding veil of ivory-colored French tulle, fastened in Madonna fashion with clusters of orange blossoms at each side of the head, and caught at the end of the train with clusters of the same flowers. She carried a sheaf of calla lilies. Mrs. Haley Fiske 2nd, who was her sister's only attendant, wore a Directoire gown of Nile green faille, a Eugenie hat of Nile green ostrich feathers, and carried a bouquet of tangerine-colored African daisies combined with lavender lace. Walter Tirrell was best man for his stepson. The ushers were Haley Fiske 2nd, Nigel Cholmeley-Jones, Lewis Wallace, Edward Hassett, Dr. Carl Roessell, Edgerton Vinson and Donald Wilson.

BRYN MAWR, Pa. - Florence Wardwell Waite, 85, died peacefully Oct. 11, 2005, surrounded by her loving sons. She was the daughter of the late Chester Alan and Henrietta Mae Wardwell of Boston, Mass. She married her late husband of 59 years, Parker Read Waite Jr. on St. Valentine's Day, 1941. Florence was a caring and devoted wife and mother, whose greatest pleasure was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed sharing time with friends in a game of tennis, squash or bridge. An accomplished sailor, she spent 30 years cruising the coast of Maine and the Eastern Shore of Maryland with her husband aboard "Osprey II." She is survived by three sons, Parker R. Waite III and his wife, Carolyn, of Sedgwick, John W. Waite and his wife, Janet, of Bernardsville, N.J. and David S. Waite and his wife, Sally Richardson, of Stonington. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and four stepgrandchildren. A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 17, at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, Bryn Mawr, Pa.
