Her death was attributed to “witchcraft.” At a Quarter Court held at Hartford, 5 Sept., 1661, Nicholas Jennings and his wife Margaret, of Saybrook, were indicted for “having enterteined familiarity with Sathan . . . . and by his help done works above þᵉ course of nature, to þᵉ loss of þᵉ lives of several psons, and in pticuler þᵉ wife of Reynold Marvin . . . . with other sorceries.”
