- ↑ MARIE HACANSON SERVICES AT RYDER Garrison - Mrs. Marie Hacanson, 85, longtime Ryder resident, died Sunday at the hospital in Garrison, where she had lived since 1969. The former Marie Romsaas was born at Fosston, Minn., Aug. 31, 1893 and moved with her family to a farm south of Ryder in 1904. She was educated there and later taught in a rural McLean County school. She married Fred Hacanson at Washburn, Dec. 15, 1914, and lived on a farm 13 miles south of Ryder until after her husband's death in 1969 when she moved into Garrison. She entered the nursing home there in 1974. Mrs. Hacanson received a 50-year pin from the Rebekah Lodge at Ryder several years ago. She leaves a son, Gordon, Ryder; a grandson; three great grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Ellen Rystad, McIntosh, Minn. (Thompson Funeral Home, Garrison)
