  2. Mrs. Hanna R. Flynn, wife of Francis (Frank) Flynn of Slocan, died in the Kootenay Lake General Hospital at Nelson on Monday, August 21, aged 80 years. Mrs. Flynn was born in Tronjhen, Norway, on August 25, 1886 and emigrated with her parents to North Dakota when about three years old. She married Francis Flynn at Emmet, North Dakota in 1908 and they moved to Alberta in 1915, living first at Crossfield and later Lethbridge, before coming to Winlaw in 1917. In 1921 they moved to Passmore where they resided until 1928, when they moved back to Alberta, living in Edmonton and Lethbridge, where Mr. Flynn was in the machinery business until 1937, when they returned to the Slocan Valley where she has resided since, making their home at Slocan since 1959. Mrs. Flynn was a longtime member of the Women's Institute at Passmore and was a member of the Ladies' Royal Purple at Lethbridge. She was predeceased by her eldest son Pilot Officer Larry Flynn, who was killed on active service with the R.C.A.F. overseas in 1942. Besides her husband she is survived by two sons: Bob & Kelly, both of Vancouver; three daughters: Mrs. Don (Esther) Martin of Lethbridge, Mrs. William (Alice) Willoughby of Lethbridge and Mrs. Alvin (Helen) Dunn of Vernon; three sisters: Mrs. Osmond (Ellen) Rystad of Fosston, Minn., Mrs. R.E. (Bertha) Hart of Greenway, Ont. and Mrs. Fred (Marie) Hacanson of Ryder, North Dakota; 13 grand- children and seven great-grandchildren.
  3. BURIAL: Hannah was cremated & her ashes spread near Passmore, B.C. at the mouth of the Little Slocan & Slocan Rivers.
