Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell, with the Rev. Josh Brown officiating. Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home Chapel in Grand Island is in charge of the arrangements.

Marie was born on Jan. 3, 1929, to Fred and Mable (Crumrine) Nerly at Spalding. She graduated from Spalding High School with honors in 1946.

She married John Eynetich on May 26, 1947, at Greeley. She taught school in Greeley and in Dawson County. The family lived from 1947 to 1979 in Cozad, where she operated The Midget Market for 12 years. In 1979 the family moved to Sargent for 10 years. John and Marie then moved to North Platte, where they lived for 10 years before moving to Grand Island in 1997.

Marie always enjoyed bowling when she was in a league in Cozad and Burwell. She was very involved in the Foster Grandparent Program when she was in the Grand Island area. Marie decided for her own peace of mind that she wanted to learn how to land her husband’s plane, so she completed the Ground School Course for pilots at the Cozad Airport. She loved gardening and especially tending to her flowers. She also got great enjoyment out of watching birds and was an avid reader. She was a member of the Catholic Church.

She is survived by five children and their spouses, Teena and David Baack of Cozad, John Eynetich of York, Jim and Gayle Eynetich of Ione, Ore., Casey Jones of Portland, Ore., and Tony and Cami Eynetich of Grand Island; a sister, Sharon Beyer of Aurora; grandchildren and their spouses, Mike and Tyrene Maack of Cozad, Kerri Dangler of Lexington, Johnny and Peg Eynetich of Kearney, Chris and Wendy Eynetich of Kearney, Jeremy Eynetich of Cozad, Sonja and Dan Wright of Cozad, Joshua Hall of Portland, Alyssa Jones of Portland, Jeff and Makenzie Eynetich of Grand Island and Ashley and Andy Chvatal of Wahoo; three stepgrandchildren and their spouses, Karen and Dustin Padberg of Ione, Jeff and Dawn Eynetich of Ione and Gina and Corey Jensen of Cozad; 23 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
