Born April 7, 1915, in Craig County, Va., the daughter of William Elmer and Gertrude Edith (Speicher) Shockey. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Daniel Albert Beal, who died March 1967; brothers, William and Joseph Shockey; sisters, Mary Louise Shaffer and Josephine Ross; and son-in-law Glenn Smith. Survived by children, Betty Jean Smith, Smithfield, Albert Donald Beal, married to the former Phyllis Baer, Friedens; nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Also survived by daughter-in-law, Betty Shockey, Aliquippa. Member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ. Also a member of the Quilter's for 29 years. Worked as a food service supervisor for Siemon's Lakeview Manor Estate, retiring with 13 years of service. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset. A service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Somerset. The Rev. Matthew Deal officiating. Interment, Berlin IOOF Cemetery.
