Margaret emigrated 1909 to Ellis Island.

In 1910, David, Margaret, Agnes (Bunty) and Thomas (Margaret's brother) were living at 71 Ash Street in Yonkers. David is listed as a carpenter. At that time of the 1930 census, David and Margaret lived in an apartment on Radford Street with their son David, and possibly a neice, Jessie (though she's listed as a daughter, age 32). David's (son) occupation is listed as bookkeeper, and Jessie's is listed as nurse. The family owned a radio, and paid $5 per month in rent. It appears they lived next door to Thomas Kerr and his family. Margaret made frequent trips to Scotland to visit her family.
