Darrell Jackson posted this on the Campbell Co., TN msg boards Sep 2000: "Mahala Cooper married William R. Jackson on 4-30-1840 in Caryville, Campbell Co, TN. In about 1852 they migrated to Morgan Co, TN where they raised 16 children. Mahala inherited the land described below from her father John Cooper (abt 1780-1854). He and his wife Hester Sage and other family members are buried in the Cooper's View Cemetery. This cemetery is in a rapidly developing area near Cove Lake/Creek. I visited there in July 2000. Its not much more then a mile from the Indian Creek Baptist church and is hard to find. I worry about its survival. The witness on this deed is Mahala's younger brother, Joseph Alexander Cooper, the Campbell County farmer that became a Major General in the Union Army during the Civil War." Then follows a long deed.
